Asian Law Conference - China, Japan and Korea under the influence of European Civil LawInternational Conference of ELSA Heidelberg from 16th to 19th june 2011 No other region dominates the world`s economic topics these days than East Asia. Japan is the world’s third biggest economic power. China ranks second and is not only export champion but also an emerging global power. Furthermore, South Korea just signed one of the most ambitious Free Trade Agreements with the European Union. Therefore, international law firms are urged to meet the growing needs of qualified legal consultation in this area. Thus, the conference will mainly focus on private law, such as business law, intellectual property law and employment law. The Asian Law Conference will introduce their participants to the legal systems of these three countries. As the European Civil Law has influenced and is still influencing the Asian jurisdiction, there is plenty of room for comparisons and discussions on the development of Asian law. Among lectures and workshops by European and Asian professors and lawyers, there will also be an event concerning the working opportunities as an European lawyer in Asia. We would be glad to welcome you to the Asian Law Conference in Heidelberg this June!
